Elegant Black Forest Roll Cake
Ingredients:
Chocolate Sponge Cake:
4 large eggs, room temperature
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Cherry Filling:
2 cups pitted cherries, fresh or frozen
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon water
Whipped Cream Filling:
1 1/2 cups heavy cream, chilled
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Garnish:
Additional cherries, chocolate shavings, or cocoa powder
Directions:
Bake Cake: Mix eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Fold in dry ingredients. Bake at 350°F in a lined pan until set.
Cherry Filling: Cook cherries and sugar, thicken with cornstarch slurry.
Whipped Cream: Whip cream, sugar, and vanilla to peaks.
Assemble: Spread cream on cake, add cherry layer, roll, and chill.
Garnish & Serve: Decorate with cherries and chocolate. Slice and enjoy!
