Sui woke up on her birthday with a hopeful heart. It was her special day, and she quietly wished for extra love, perhaps a belly rub or two, maybe a few warm words. But as the day began, she noticed something strange. Her family bustled around as usual, but no one seemed to notice her at all. She watched as Neo and Meda chased each other, laughing and playing, while Koli and Nik lounged together, blissfully unaware.
As the hours ticked by, Sui’s hope began to dim. She curled up in her favorite corner, feeling a bit invisible, her heart heavy with the loneliness only she could understand. She had tried so hard to be a good pup, loyal and gentle, hoping to be seen and celebrated, but the day seemed to slip away unnoticed.
Just then, a soft sound made her look up. Her friend Gin was standing beside her, eyes gentle and warm. “Hey, Sui,” he said softly, “What’s wrong?”
Sui hesitated, her voice barely a whisper. “It’s my birthday, but it feels like no one remembers.”
Gin’s eyes widened with understanding. “Oh, Sui, I didn’t know! Come with me,” he said with a smile, nudging her gently.
