Thor woke up on his 7th birthday with the sun streaming through the window, casting warm rays on his fluffy fur. He stretched, feeling the excitement bubbling inside him. Today was a day for fun!
As he trotted into the living room, he was greeted by the familiar smells of breakfast. But where were the decorations? The treats? He glanced around, hoping to spot a birthday banner or maybe a new toy. Instead, his family was busy with their morning routine, completely unaware of the special day.
Feeling a bit deflated, Thor decided to take matters into his own paws. He grabbed his favorite squeaky toy and paraded around the house, giving playful barks, trying to catch their attention. He jumped onto the couch, nudging his family for pets and cuddles, and wagged his tail like a propeller.
Finally, his youngest human noticed him and exclaimed, “Oh! Happy Birthday, Thor!” She rushed to the kitchen and returned with a homemade dog treat shaped like a bone. His heart soared! They may have forgotten the big celebration, but the love and joy in that moment were more than enough.
