Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Mousse Cake
Ingredients:
– 1 pre-made chocolate cake
– 1 cup heavy cream
– 1/2 cup powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 2 tablespoons butter
– Fresh strawberries for garnish
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continue whipping until stiff peaks form.
2. Gently fold in the diced strawberries into the whipped cream.
3. Cut the chocolate cake into two layers horizontally. Place one layer at the bottom of a springform pan.
4. Spread the strawberry mousse mixture over the cake layer. Top with the second cake layer.
5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals until smooth.
6. Pour the melted chocolate over the top of the cake, allowing it to drip down the sides.
7. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to set.
8. Garnish with fresh strawberries before serving.
