Decadent German Chocolate Poke Cake 🍫🥥
Ingredients
For the Cake
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1 ⅓ cups water
½ cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
For the Filling
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1 jar (12 oz) caramel topping
For the Topping
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
½ cup unsalted butter
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions
Bake the Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix cake ingredients and bake in a greased 9×13 pan for 25-30 mins. Cool slightly.
Add the Filling: Poke holes all over the cake. Mix condensed milk and caramel. Pour evenly into holes.
Make the Topping: Combine evaporated milk, sugars, butter, and yolks in a saucepan. Cook until thick (10-12 mins). Stir in vanilla, pecans, and coconut.
Top & Melt: Spread topping over cake. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and let melt, then spread evenly.
Cool & Serve: Let the cake cool completely before serving.
