Finn on his 4th birthday, stretching his paws and letting out a big yawn. He was ready for a day full of fun, expecting the usual excitement that came with being another year older. He trotted into the living room, his tail wagging with anticipation, hoping to find his family waiting for him with a birthday surprise.
But the house was quiet. No balloons, no special breakfast, no party hats. Confused, Finn looked around, his ears perking up at every sound, wondering if the celebration was just a little late. As the day went on, he got plenty of belly rubs and playtime, but nothing felt like a birthday.
By the evening, Finn curled up on his favorite spot on the couch, a little puzzled but still content. He hadn’t gotten the big celebration he imagined, but his family’s love was always there, even without a party. As he dozed off, Finn decided that maybe next year would bring the balloons and cake—but today, love was enough.
