Walking down the street one evening, I noticed a small, shivering figure huddled near a lamppost. As I got closer, I realized it was a puppy, dirty and scared, with eyes full of confusion. My heart skipped a beat—this was the same puppy I’d seen on missing posters around the neighborhood.
Kneeling down, I gently called out to him. His tail gave a timid wag, and he took a cautious step toward me. The relief was instant, for both of us. I scooped him up, feeling the warmth of his tiny body against mine. The search was over; he was finally safe.
