Ginger awoke with the sun filtering through the curtains, excited because today was her 5th birthday! She stretched her little paws and let out a joyful bark, her tail wagging furiously. Ginger knew that her family always made her birthdays special, filled with treats and games.
As the morning went on, she watched her family bustle around the house. However, something felt off; there were no decorations, no hints of a birthday celebration. Ginger sniffed the air, hoping to catch a whiff of cake or treats, but it was just the usual breakfast smells.
Determined not to let her spirits drop, Ginger pranced around, showing off her best tricks and trying to gather attention. She brought her favorite toy to her humans, but they were too busy with their morning routines.
As the day turned to evening, Ginger felt a twinge of sadness. Maybe they had forgotten her special day. Just then, her family called her into the living room. As she bounded in, they all shouted, “Surprise!” Balloons floated above, and a beautiful cake sat on the table. Ginger’s tail wagged in disbelief and joy as they showered her with love, treats, and a chorus of “Happy Birthday!”
