Ivy woke up on her 9th birthday, a little slower than she used to be but filled with the same spirit she had when she was a pup. The sun streamed through the window, and she could smell breakfast cooking in the kitchen. Today was special, she could feel it in her bones.
As the family gathered around the table, Ivy made her way to them, her tail wagging with anticipation. She watched them eat, hoping they had remembered her special day. But as the meal ended and everyone began to clear the table, Ivy’s heart sank a little. No one had mentioned her birthday.
Feeling a mix of excitement and disappointment, Ivy decided to take matters into her own paws. She trotted over to her toy basket and pulled out her favorite squeaky bone. With a determined bark, she pranced around the room, trying to get everyone’s attention.
Suddenly, laughter erupted from the kitchen. “What’s all the fuss about, Ivy?” they asked, noticing her antics. Her humans gathered around, and one of them held up a colorful party hat. “Surprise! Happy 9th Birthday, Ivy!”
