Strawberry Vanilla Bean Ice Cream Creamy, Dreamy!
Ingredients
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 vanilla bean, seeds scraped
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
6 large egg yolks
Directions
Strawberry Mix: Cook strawberries, sugar, and vanilla bean seeds in a saucepan over medium heat until soft. Cool.
Make the Custard: Heat cream and milk until it simmers. Whisk egg yolks in a bowl. Slowly add hot cream to yolks, whisking constantly.
Thicken: Return to pan and cook on low, stirring until it coats the back of a spoon. Strain and chill.
Churn: Churn custard in an ice cream maker. Add strawberry mix in the last few minutes.
Freeze: Transfer to a container and freeze until firm.
