Today is my 9th birthday, and I woke up with my tail wagging, expecting some extra love and maybe a special treat. But as the day went on, something felt off. My humans seemed busy, and not a single person mentioned my special day. I watched them go about their routines, hoping for a happy birthday hug or a tasty treat, but it didn’t come.
I lay down in my favorite spot, feeling a bit left out. The house was quiet, and my ears drooped a little. My humans had always been so loving and attentive, so why had they forgotten today? I tried to stay hopeful, thinking maybe they had a surprise planned
Just when I was about to curl up for a nap, the door opened, and in came a familiar face—my friend, Roger, with a big, warm smile.
Roger set up a little party just for me. He sang a silly birthday song and gave me a shiny new toy that squeaked. He even had a bag of my favorite treats. My tail wagged furiously as I sniffed and nuzzled the toy, and I gobbled up the treats with glee.
