Today’s my special day, and I had everything ready—treats, my favorite spot set up, and my best party hat on. I sat there, eyes sparkling, waiting for friends to join and for the sweet birthday wishes to pour in. But as time passed, my heart sank a little; I looked around, and it was just me, the quiet yard, and the untouched cake.
Maybe someone’s on their way, I thought, as I waited a bit longer. My tail’s still got a few wags left in it, hoping for some birthday cheer. 🥳💫
