Leo’s Birthday of Patience
Leo woke up with a sparkle in his eye—it was his birthday! Birthdays were special to him, full of warm hugs, tasty treats, and everyone’s attention. He stretched and waited eagerly by the door, expecting the familiar “Happy Birthday, Leo!” to echo through the house. But as the minutes ticked by, he realized everyone seemed busier than usual.
Neo and Koli were dashing around on errands, Ria and Nik were still snuggled up, and even Brian was caught up with the morning’s hustle. Leo’s heart sank just a little. Maybe they had forgotten? He gave a little sigh but told himself that sometimes people get busy. “Wishes will come soon,” he thought, giving his tail a hopeful wag.
Leo decided to make the best of the morning. He trotted over to his favorite spot by the window and watched the world outside, his thoughts drifting to all the fun he’d have when everyone remembered his special day. Hours passed, but Leo held onto hope, reminding himself that love was always there, even if it took a little time.
Finally, as the sun began to set, he heard the familiar pitter-patter of paws and voices gathering around him. The whole family had returned, carrying treats, balloons, and even a bright birthday hat just for him! “Happy Birthday, Leo!” they cheered, showering him with hugs and belly rubs.
