What happens in the video:
An elderly man in ragged clothing enters a luxurious hotel lobby. A black-suited employee confronts him. The visitor takes out a small object and holds it in his hands. Another man in a blue suit approaches and speaks to him.
Extended story:
Thomas had come to return a pocket watch.
He found it beside a bench outside the hotel and recognized the building engraved on its case.
The first employee barely let him explain.
Then the man in the blue suit saw what Thomas was holding.
“Where did you find that?”
The watch had belonged to his father. He had lost it on the morning of a memorial gathering and spent the afternoon blaming himself.
He offered Thomas a reward.
Thomas hesitated, then asked a different question.
“Could I use your telephone? My daughter doesn’t know where I am.”
Their relationship had broken down months earlier. He had rehearsed calling her so often that the number came without thought.
She answered on the second ring.
The hotel manager found a quiet room and left him alone.
When Thomas emerged, he was crying.
“She’s coming.”
The watch went back into one man’s pocket. Another man waited by the entrance for the person he had been afraid to call.
