She Asked for a Chair While They Checked the Booking

DailyHorizon October 28, 2026

What happens in the video

At a waterfront restaurant, a woman using crutches and wearing a leg brace speaks with a man in black beside a menu stand. Their exchange appears tense. A waitress carrying a tray approaches and joins them, then moves towards a nearby chair or table. The clip does not establish the reason for the disagreement or show the completed outcome.

Continuation:

Alice had chosen the restaurant because the terrace looked easy to reach. Her friends were already inside, celebrating the end of a difficult project, and she was tired of being the person who stayed home.

At the entrance, she paused beside the menu stand. Her leg ached, and she needed somewhere to sit while someone checked the booking.

“Could I use that chair?”

The host shook his head. “That table is reserved.”

“So is ours. I’m waiting for you to find it.”

He kept looking at the screen. Alice explained that she didn’t need the whole table, only a seat for a few minutes. He repeated that guests couldn’t occupy reserved tables.

Behind her, the sea looked calm. The entrance felt anything but.

Alice had spent weeks learning how much extra planning her injury required. What exhausted her most was asking for small adjustments and receiving answers to questions she hadn’t asked.

A waitress arrived carrying drinks. She noticed Alice’s expression and asked whether she needed to sit.

“Yes. Please.”

After putting the tray down, she checked which spare chair could be moved without blocking the walkway. Within a minute, Alice was seated.

The booking was found under her friend’s surname. Their table had been ready all along.

The host apologised. Alice accepted, but explained that finding the booking and finding somewhere to sit had been two separate problems. He could have helped with one while checking the other.

Once inside, her friends started asking about the entrance. Alice raised a hand.

“Later. First, tell me who actually finished the report.”

They laughed, and the evening began again.

She stayed through dinner, dessert, and an unnecessarily long debate about which colleague would be late to the next meeting. For several hours, she was part of the conversation rather than the subject of concern.

Before leaving, she thanked the waitress. The waitress said she would mention the lack of waiting seats to the manager.

A month later, Alice returned without the crutches, although she still walked carefully. A small seating area now stood near the entrance, clear of the main route.

The host recognised her and greeted her normally. He didn’t make a performance of the change.

Alice waited there while her friend parked. Beside her, a tired parent settled with a sleeping child.

Neither had to explain why sitting down would help.
