He Asked for Another Entrance—But They Kept Arguing

DailyHorizon October 22, 2026

What happens in the video:
A young man using crutches, with one lower leg in a white cast, speaks with an employee in a bright-pink polo shirt on a busy boardwalk. He holds a leaflet or booklet while the employee gestures and leans towards him. A man approaches from behind, and the employee extends an arm near the young man as the clip ends. The dispute remains unexplained.

Continuation:

Ethan had spent the whole journey telling his father he was fine.

The broken leg had already cost him football practice, a school trip and most of his independence. He didn’t want it to cost him the afternoon at the pier as well.

Now the employee in pink was pointing towards the crowded route ahead.

“You can’t go through there like that.”

Ethan tightened his grip on the crutches.

“I’m asking where the other entrance is.”

The employee thought he was insisting on joining a queue that included steps. Ethan thought he was being told to leave altogether.

Each repeated himself more loudly.

When Ethan’s father arrived, he resisted the urge to answer for his son.

“Tell him what you need,” he said.

Ethan held out the leaflet.

“It says there’s step-free access. I can’t find it.”

The employee looked down at the map. A temporary stall had obscured the sign marking the alternative route.

His expression changed.

“Right. I’m sorry. I thought you were trying to use the stairs.”

“I wasn’t.”

The man stepped back to give Ethan more room and explained the route properly. He asked a colleague to move the sign into view.

Ethan still looked annoyed.

“You could have listened the first time.”

“You’re right.”

Once they were out of the crowd, his father asked whether he wanted to continue or take a break.

“Continue. But slowly.”

They reached the attraction through the accessible entrance, where a staff member checked what arrangements Ethan needed. Nobody promised that every activity would be suitable. They simply explained the options and let him choose.

By late afternoon, he was tired but cheerful. His father had lost several arcade games and was pretending that the machines were unfair.

“They are,” Ethan said. “You’re also terrible.”

On their way back, they passed the employee in pink. The sign was now clearly visible at the junction.

“Did you find everything?” he asked.

“Yes.”

“Good. And I’m sorry again.”

Ethan nodded.

Before leaving, he pointed to a narrow gap beside the sign.

“That might still be difficult for a wheelchair.”

The employee examined it, then moved a display stand farther back.

“Better?”

“Better.”

In the car, Ethan’s father said he was proud of how he had explained himself.

“I was angry.”

“You were allowed to be.”

Ethan looked down at the leaflet, now creased around the handles of his crutches.

“I just wanted an afternoon out.”

His father started the engine.

“You got one.”

Ethan smiled.

“And I beat you at everything.”

That, at least, was exactly how he wanted to remember the day.
