The Day a Arrogant Salesman Fired Himself

The Undercover Quality Check

Marcus Brody was the newly appointed CEO of the automotive group’s parent company, and he had a reputation for unorthodox management styles. He firmly believed that the true test of a premium brand’s luxury service wasn’t how it treated the visibly wealthy, but how it treated the working class. To test his staff’s adherence to the corporate code of ethics, he put on a bright orange construction vest, dusty denim jeans, and scuffed work boots, pretending to be a common laborer from the massive commercial site down the street. He wanted to see firsthand if his sales team lived up to the company’s public motto of “equality, respect, and luxury for all.”

He walked past the gleaming line of exotic supercars, his presence immediately drawing uncomfortable stares from the staff. He stopped right by a stunning, top-tier red model, admiring its sleek lines. A young salesman instantly approached, eager to clear the floor of what he perceived to be a distraction to their high-paying clientele.

“Sir, these sports cars are not meant for casual browsing,” the salesman insisted, keeping a tight, superficial smile while trying to push Marcus away from the car.

Marcus kept playing his undercover part perfectly, keeping his voice humble. “I am interested in this specific one.”

The salesman smirked openly, looking down at Marcus’s dusty boots and the safety gear. “Customers in your field of work usually stick to standard vehicle options. This is different gear.”

Marcus took a slow breath, realizing that the corporate culture under his command had grown toxic and elitist. He locked eyes with the young man. “You are making a profound mistake.”

Losing his patience and wanting to impress his colleagues, the salesman gestured sharply toward the exit. “Please exit the showroom before I notify the building security.”

Suddenly, the dealership’s regional director sprinted out of the main office, completely breathless and white as a sheet. He had been checking the security cameras and recognized the CEO immediately. “Wait! That is the actual owner!” The salesman froze, his hands trembling instantly as Marcus quietly unzipped his safety vest, revealing the custom-tailored shirt and corporate badge underneath.
