The Surprise Audit
Arthur Sterling was a self-made billionaire who had built his luxury retail empire from absolute scratch. Having grown up in a rough neighborhood where he was constantly judged by his appearance, he made it his lifelong mission never to judge a book by its cover. On this particular afternoon, he chose to visit his flagship jewelry boutique wearing a fine, custom-tailored white suit. He held a small velvet box containing a priceless, rare diamond heirloom that he wanted cleaned. Arthur intentionally decided not to alert the local staff of his arrival, wanting to get a completely genuine look at their daily customer service.
Instead of receiving a warm, professional welcome, he was met by the store’s top manager. A woman named Victoria, dressed in an immaculate red suit, marched over with a look of deep suspicion plastered across her face. She pointed an accusing finger right at his chest.

“Individuals like you always target high-end jewelry locations during the daytime,” Victoria hissed, her voice dripping with clear prejudice.
Arthur kept his absolute composure, looking down at her with cool, unblinking eyes. “You have just publicly humiliated the wrong powerful businessman today.”
Victoria scoffed loudly, completely missing the immense authority in his calm tone. She turned her head toward two local police officers who had just walked into the showroom on a routine patrol. “Escort this suspicious customer outside before the security team arrives immediately.”

Arthur did not panic. Instead, he calmly reached into his inner jacket pocket, pulled out a neatly folded document, and held it up right in front of her face. It was the original commercial deed of purchase for the entire franchise. “I own this jewelry store. Remove this woman.” Victoria’s jaw dropped instantly as the police.
